Temperatures are slowly beginning to rise, and along with the first warmth, the first wild herbs are also beginning to shyly appear in the fields, such as the dandelion, a specialty that can be picked in different areas of the Altopiano del Sole or tasted in the coming months on the menus of local restaurants.

DESTINATION OF THE MONTH: PRAVE

The hamlet of Prave is situated at an altitude of 1,153 meters and although it is part of the municipality of Angolo Terme, it can be reached by taking a branch lane along the Borno-Paline road, near Lake Giallo, continuing on foot after leaving the car in the small parking area adjacent to the road.

Once we start walking, we immediately go along a lane lined by rowan and spruce trees, from which you can admire the Via Mala and Presolana on the eastern side.

After about half an hour we arrive in Prave: a hamlet untouched by time, where there are no stores or kiosks for refreshments, but only well-kept farmsteads, perfectly maintained cottages and immense expanses of green.

Completing the picture is the small church of St. Bartholomew, a symbol of the spirituality and religiosity that have characterized this area for centuries.

From Prave it is possible to reach several points of interest: near the picnic area there is the path that leads to Val Sorda and Pratolungo, while from the area of the small church of St. Bartholomew it is possible to continue to “Mastai,” a particularly charming location overlooking a valley.

The path to Mastai is as picturesque as it gets: poems and fused plaques set in stone are scattered along the way, and once you reach your destination you will find yourself facing a kind of stone window, from where you can admire a unique panorama.
