APRIL: DISCOVER THE AWAKENING OF NATURE ON THE ALTOPIANO DEL SOLE

“April sleep is sweet” goes a famous popular saying in Italian, but on the Altopiano del Sole it is time for rebirth: the spring season is in full force, bringing with it a riot of unique scents and colors.

Alpine flowers begin to flower again, and among the forests it is possible to glimpse wonderful landscapes, not to be missed by lovers of mountain hiking.

Enlivening this period will be the various initiatives organized in anticipation of the Easter season, along with one of the most anticipated events in April on the Altopiano del Sole: the Piancogno Flower Fair.

THE FLOWER FAIR

After a two-year “stop” due to the pandemic, the Flower Fair returns to once again transform the center of Piancogno into a large botanical garden, where numerous exhibitors will be present with items in the sectors of floriculture, garden furniture, agriculture, organic agriculture, technology and more.

But where did this floral tradition come from?

The Flower Fair, now in its XXIXth edition, was created on the initiative of the Pro Loco of Piancogno, which has been in charge of its organization since it started. Originating from a desire to enhance one of the best-known floricultural districts nationwide, every year it hosts professionals, collectors and producers of botanical rarities that would be almost impossible to find elsewhere.

APRIL 22-25, 2022

About 70 exhibitors will be present at this year’s event, so it will be possible to find bulbs of rare species, seeds, the latest equipment for gardens and parks, furnishings, outdoor decorations and various green care items.

It starts on April 22nd with the opening of the stands along Via Nazionale, the setting for a host of events. Exhibitions, tastings, green walks, concerts, children’s games and performances by street artists will in fact enliven the historic center until Monday 25th.

Since it started, the Piancogno fair attracts exhibitors and visitors from the province of Brescia, Bergamo, Cremona, Mantua, Verona and the entire Northeast of Italy, also including many tourists from abroad, especially from Croatia and Slovenia.

This year’s edition represents a true symbol of rebirth: not only floral specialties will be the protagonists, but also lightheartedness, socializing and the joy of meeting together.
