SIX UNMISSABLE EVENTS ON THE ALTOPIANO DEL SOLE IN JULY

The Altopiano del Sole in July gets into the swing of summer!

For those who want to get some fresh air and take a break from the daily routine, this area offers numerous opportunities: trips to the mountains, days at the lake, visits to archaeological sites surrounded by nature or walks through the picturesque streets of the villages, where you can stop to taste typical local products surrounded by a unique atmosphere.

In this period there are many events organized for the enjoyment of young and old, and in this article, we look together at the six unmissable events in July on the Altopiano del Sole.

1. LOZIO – FEAST OF SS.PIETRO E PAOLO – JULY 3

What better way to find out more about the area than by participating in the traditional festivals organized locally? In Villa di Lozio on Sunday, July 3rd we celebrate the Patron Saint’s Festival in honor of SS.Peter and Paul, an occasion deeply felt by the whole community. It starts in the morning with the Holy Mass enlivened by the choir “I Musicanti,” and then continues with the Procession through the streets of Villa with the statue of St. Peter.

A community lunch is planned for the occasion, where you will be able to taste the casoncelli of San Piro: a specialty that will leave your palates decidedly satisfied.

To enliven the day there will be no shortage of dancing to the sound of the accordion, for an afternoon of merriment and conviviality.

2. PIANCOGNO – PARTY AT THE MINE REFUGE – JULY 9th AND 10th

Two days of music, partying and nature walks at Rifugio Mine in Piancogno, which can be reached on foot starting from Via Fonte Pizzoli in Borno or by taking advantage of the dedicated jeep-shuttle service.

On Saturday, July 9th, you will be able to climb on the two crags opened near Mine, followed by a spit-roast dinner, the 100HP concert and the night tenting. On Sunday morning, for those who will be staying overnight in the valley, a hike to the refuge is scheduled, starting from Piamborno. Once at your destination, there will be the food stand where you buy some refreshments, before the prize draw that will be held in the afternoon.

A weekend of activities and fun that will allow you to discover a truly picturesque corner of the Altopiano del Sole.

3. BORNO – XVI PALIO DI SAN MARTINO – JULY 15th TO 17th

Imagine taking a plunge into the past, all the way back to the 13th century: walking, trampling straw under your feet,listening to medieval sounds and music, blending into the crowd wearing costumes and cloaks inspired by those of the time, and losing your voice cheering for the competitors you support in the quest to win the much-covetedpalio“.

All this will come true, in Borno, July 15th – 17th.

Three days to relive the medieval atmosphere among ancient games, historic market, taverns, banquet in the square and performances that will make your weekend a truly memorable experience!

4. OSSIMO – MOTOR BIKE SHOW – JULY 23

On Saturday, July 23rd Ossimo Inferiore will host a trial bike show: a real must for motorcycle enthusiasts.

From 3 p.m. it will be possible to watch the performance of professionals in an activity for which it is not so much the speed that counts, but the skill of the participants in facing an obstacle course.

Following this, the food stand will be active throughout the evening, with entertainment and music.

5. MALEGNO – PEDENA ROCK FESTIVAL – JULY 30th

Do you love music festivals immersed in nature?

Then you cannot miss the new edition of the Pedena Rock Festival in Malegno. On Saturday, July 30th, the woods in the Pedena area will come alive to the sound of rock music, in an environment set up especially for all participants to have fun and dance.

Performing will be “ROS” from Montepulciano with a punk-rock repertoire, the band “LoudMother,” the new exponents of the rock scene in Valle Camonica “Dusty Crease” and the Brescia group “Kill dafne.“

But it doesn’t end there: to make this event even more unmissable there will be an open party, an after party, food stand, games area and tent area for those who wish to stay overnight on site.

6. TERZANO DI ANGOLO TERME – SAGRA DEI CAPÙ – JULY 28th to 31st

We conclude our list of this month’s events with the not-to-be-missed SAGRA DEI CAPÙ in Terzano, scheduled this year from July 28th to 31st.

Protagonists of this 30th edition will not only be the tastiest stuffed cabbage rolls of the Altopiano del Sole, but also the various initiatives organized for the enjoyment of visitors and residents.

Every night, from Thursday to Sunday, groups, music bands and DJs will perform, making for an even more magical event.

What makes the capu festival a flagship among the events in the area is undoubtedly the commitment and passion invested by all the inhabitants of the community of Terzano, which although small manages every year to bring to life a truly incredible festival.
