DISCOVER MAY EVENTS ON THE ALTOPIANO DEL SOLE

Welcome May, a truly splendid month to visit the Altopiano del Sole!

At this time of year, the landscapes display the vibrant colours of spring, including the bright green of the pastures, the bright yellow of the dandelions and the thousands of shades of the blossoms.

For mountain enthusiasts, the sunny days of May are the perfect time to start trekking at high altitudes and reach destinations of great beauty.

Those, on the other hand, who prefer to explore small villages can venture onto the Altopiano del Sole and enjoy the mild temperatures amidst picturesque alleys, squares and buildings.

There is also no shortage of events dedicated to sports enthusiasts, and in this new article we present two unmissable appointments for a fun-filled May.

ANGOLO VERTICAL – 6 AND 7 MAY – ANGOLO TERME

Are you ready to put yourself to the test? For mountain running enthusiasts, the ‘Angolo Vertical‘, the ascent to Colle Vareno, is scheduled for Sunday, 7 May.

The route includes 3,600 metres of ascent and an altitude difference of 1,040 metres.

The starting point will be the Casa della Spiritualità (House of Spirituality) in Angolo Terme and through the ‘Belvidì path’ the participants will climb up to the destination.

To mark the new edition, a ‘Vertical Party’ will be organised on Saturday 6 May, a special evening with presentation of the athletes and bib delivery, followed by a spit-based dinner at the marquee at the Angolo Terme sports field.

MALEGNO-BORNO CRONOSCALATA – 26-28 MAY

The date for the 52nd edition of the Trofeo Vallecamonica Malegno-Ossimo-Borno has been set for the weekend of 26-28 May.

The historic hill-climb race organised by the Automobile Club Brescia is reconfirmed year after year as the territory’s top event in the sphere of speed.

For the third consecutive year it will be valid as a round of the Italian Mountain Speed Championship, as well as for the Italian Mountain Speed Trophy North.

The participants of the new edition will once again challenge each other along a route of about 9 kilometres, amidst hairpin bends, stretches and the unfailing affection of the many fans anxiously awaiting the start of the race.

If you have never experienced it, just know that the Malegno-Borno cronoscalata will allow you to experience a weekend of adrenaline and great emotions.
