Welcome September!

As summer gently recedes, the fresh breath of autumn begins to blow over the landscapes of the Altopiano del Sole, which is preparing to open a new chapter.

Nature begins to paint its masterpieces with golden and reddish brushstrokes, the bunches of grapes ripen in the vineyards at the bottom of the valley, the animals slowly leave the alpine pastures to return to the shepherd’s huts on the plain; this is the magic of September, a month not to be missed among the wonders of the Altopiano del Sole.

ANGOLO TERME – SATURDAY 2 SEPTEMBER – 5 POKER CHALLENGE

The final Poker della Montagna challenge is scheduled for Saturday 2 September in Angolo Terme.

An invitation-only race based on the scores obtained in the 4 mountain running events of the past weeks, at the end of which there will be a spaghetti party at the Campo Sportivo marquee.

The perfect evening to end this exciting adventure in style.

OSSIMO SUPERIORE – SATURDAY 2 SEPTEMBER – THE SANTELLA BETWEEN ART AND RELIGIOSITY

The Altopiano del Sole is an area with a long religious tradition, still preserved today in the numerous little shrines scattered in the villages and on the roads connecting the towns.

On Saturday 2 September at 20:45, at the little Church of San Carlo in Ossimo Superiore, Professor Francesco Inversini will hold a meeting entitled “La santella tra arte e religiosità” (The little shrine between art and religiosity), where he will present the various votive aedicules, works of great value that still preserve the spiritual soul of the place.

LOZIO – 3 SEPTEMBER – ALPINI FESTIVAL

On Sunday 3 September, the Alpini of Lozio will celebrate the traditional feast of the group.

At 10:15 a.m. will start the parade through the streets of Villa di Lozio accompanied by the Fanfare ANA Rogno, which will be followed by the flag-raising, the laying of the wreath to the fallen soldiers, the S.Messa animated by “I Musicanti” and the lunch.

In the afternoon, a day in company.

MALEGNO – 9 SEPTEMBER – ENOGASTRONOMIC WALK AMONG THE FARMSTEADS OF MALEGNO

Saturday 9 September sees the return of “Cascinando”, the food and wine walk through the farmsteads of Malegno.

9 stages and 9 tastings, to discover the territory and local flavours.

The event will start from Piazza Zaccaria Casari, with staggered departures starting at 18:00.

BORNO – 10 SEPTEMBER – AT THE TIME OF THE ‘STRADÙ’

To mark the centenary of the opening of the Malegno – Ossimo – Borno carriageway, the Altopiano del Sole takes a dip into the past with an exhibition of vintage buses, cars and bicycles, recreating the atmosphere of the Belle Epoque.

On Sunday 10 September, don’t miss the presentation of the book “El Stradù”, followed by an aperitif for all participants.

MALEGNO – 16 SEPTEMBER – VALLECAMONICA VERTICAL 750 BY NIGHT

Are you ready to defy gravity? After the success of the first three editions on the pipeline, the Malegno Vertical 750 returns after four years with a new format, on the road and at night on Saturday 16 September.

Immersed in darkness, up the steep slopes of Monte Guna, the race will take place along a winding route of around 4 km with 750 m of altitude difference, starting from Via Sabbiolo.

The Vallecamonica Vertical does not want to be just a race, but an enveloping experience made of fatigue, emotions and joy.

BORNO – 23 and 24 SEPTEMBER – TRANSHUMANCE FEAST

On 23 and 24 September, the Transhumance Festival arrives in Borno. Two days where animals returning from the pastures and mountain pastures at altitude parade festively through the streets of the village, before returning to the stables on the plain.

Transhumance is an ancient rite, a symbol of the bond between man and mountain, which attracts many people every September.

Stalls, food stands, music and entertainment will not fail to animate the event, all the info on which will be available shortly.

PIANCOGNO – 24 SEPTEMBER – PIANCOGNO IN VIGNA

The new edition of “Piancogno in Vigna” is scheduled for Sunday, 24 September.

The food and wine walk to discover the flavours and wine cellars of Piancogno has become a fixed appointment on the Altopiano del Sole, not to be missed by all those who wish to savour the products of the vineyards of the valley bottom, an area historically devoted to viticulture where some of the Camonica’s excellent wines are still produced.
