Do you already know what to do in August?

AUGUST ON ALTOPIANO DEL SOLE

With the advance of summer and the arrival of August, the Altopiano del Sole is an ideal destination for those who wish to spend their holidays in the mountains, far from the torrid heat of the cities. A mild climate, cool fir forests and high-altitude lakes make the area a privileged destination, offering numerous options for enjoying days of relax and fun in contact with nature.
But what to do in August on the Altopiano del Sole? In this in-depth look at the main events in the municipalities’ summer calendar.

BORNO

August in Borno offers a wealth of events for all kinds of tourists.
It begins on the first weekend of the month with the annual Alpini festival with a food stand at the skating rink. On Saturday 3, the exhibition ‘Di sguardi e di persone’ (Of looks and people) will be set up in the Villa Guidetti Museum, which will remain open to the public until 25 August.
At the Borno Ski Area, the Saturdays of ‘Yoga in Vetta’ continue, for those who wish to practice relaxation in a mountain setting with a view that sweeps from the Adamello mountains to Lake Iseo.
The cultural association ‘La Gazza’ presents for the month of August a full programme of meetings, shows, nature trips, open-air cinema and much more, which can be viewed by clicking here.
Piazza Giovanni Paolo II and Via Vittorio Veneto will be animated by the stands of the ‘Vintage and Handmade Markets’ on Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 August, in conjunction with the return of the San Fermo Torchlight Procession. The traditional descent with torches from the top of the mountain, born to celebrate the link between history, legend and territory, and which over the years has become one of the highlights of the summer. On Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 August, the Evolution Team ASD awaits you for the San Fermo Trail weekend. It starts on Saturday afternoon with the ‘Family Run’, the non-competitive run for children and families, which anticipates the ‘Evening with the Mountaineer’, animated this year by the stories of South Tyrolean mountaineer Tamara Lunger. Sunday 18 August will be the day of trail running, the mountain running race that touches on some of the most iconic places in the Borno area. This summer, Borno will host one of the events of the ‘From shaman to showman’ festival. The performance by comedian and cabaret artist Paolo Hendel is scheduled for Friday, 23 August at the skating rink.
