APRIL ON THE ALTOPIANO DEL SOLE
April has arrived, and on the Altopiano del Sole, spring is starting to come into its own.
The meadows are tinged a deep green, dotted with the first dandelion blossoms, while the snow is slowly receding, making way for paths perfect for hiking and trekking in the mountains.
Easter Day and 25 April also fall this month, representing for many unmissable occasions to organise a trip out of town or a weekend immersed in nature. The Altopiano del Sole, with its breathtaking scenery, fresh mountain air and wide range of activities for young and old, is the ideal destination for those who want to take a break from routine and enjoy the awakening of nature among walks, picnics, authentic flavours and small family-friendly villages.
In April, the events calendar of the Altopiano del Sole also thickens and in this new article you will find the main events scheduled in the area.
5-6 APRIL
On Saturday 5 April at 15:00 there will be the inauguration of the information board dedicated to the Rizzieri estate in the “Delle Torri” Municipal Park in Piancogno.
On Sunday, 6 April, a day is planned in Val Sorda to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the death of two “Rebels for Love”, Teresio Olivelli and Giovanni Venturini.
EASTER AND 25 APRIL
Christmas with your folks..Easter with whoever you want! Are you looking for a destination out of town for the Easter weekend or the 25 April long weekend?
On the Altopiano del Sole you can find beautiful territories and landscapes, where you can spend a few days in contact with nature and discovering small villages, but also a rich programme of events suitable for all kinds of visitors.
Monday 21 April sees the return of the Spring Festival in Borno. An initiative that celebrates the beautiful season together with exhibitors of handicrafts and typical products, animal shows, popular songs and folklore. New this year will be an egg hunt, for the enjoyment of all children.
At Angolo Terme, Monday 21 April will see the celebration of the Alpini Group’s annual festival, with the traditional parade through the village streets, followed by Holy Mass and the unveiling of a commemorative sculpture. On the day, it will be possible to visit the Alpine exhibition at the Angolo Terme Town Hall and take part in the community lunch.
From Tuesday 22 to Thursday 24 April, the recreational-educational workshop ‘Giochiamo con la Storia’ (Let’s play with history) is scheduled at the library in Ossimo Inferiore. An initiative dedicated to children from 8 to 15 years old, with role-playing and collaboration games to experience history while having fun. The workshop will be held every day from 3pm to 5pm, registration welcome at 338.2627359.
On Friday 25 April, the Italian Youth MTB XC Company Championships will be held in Borno, with a mountain bike race for the youth categories beginners and students (13-16 years old). The event will take place on a natural, technical and decidedly fun course, with the meeting point at Piazzale Funivie.
Also on Friday 25 April is the Trofeo Sergio Fiora in Angolo Terme, the race in the Lake Moro park open to all and valid for the Coppa Camunia CSI.
On Saturday, 26 April, we would like to point out the “NostràMangiacurta” event in Ossimo Superiore, a food and wine walk with cultural guided tours and music.
