Welcome back May!
A special month for those who love the mountains: whether you love trekking, climbing, biking, or simply wish to immerse yourself in the beauty of nature, May is certainly a favourable time to try your hand at any of these activities.
On the Altopiano del Sole, May is also a month rich in events and manifestations in all the villages, with a special mention for Lozio, where on May 18th and 19th, the official accession ceremony to the “Mountaineers’ Village” will be held, an important recognition for the entire territory.

MONTAGNATTIVA – BORNO – SATURDAY 4 MAY
On Saturday, 4 May, the first edition of ‘MontagnAttiva’, the event dedicated to the promotion of sport on the Altopiano del Sole, is scheduled in Piazza Giovanni Paolo II in Borno.
During the day, you will be able to try your hand at wall climbing, go down the slopes on rubber dinghies or Neveplast,try out motorbikes and electric bikes, pedal together with the organisers of BIKEnjoy Valle Camonica to discover part of the route of the new edition, and meet the protagonists of the various associations and sports realities of the area.
At 16:00, everyone at the SCOTT stand to meet a special guest: Eugenio Bianchi, a nationally renowned athlete who will present and demonstrate the HYROX discipline.
If you love sport, or simply want to spend a day of pure fun, then you absolutely cannot miss it.
SPRING FIESTA – OSSIMO INFERIORE – SUNDAY 5 MAY
It’s party time in Ossimo Inferiore: on Sunday 5 May, Piazza San Damiano celebrates spring with a day of music, good food and entertainment for young and old.
At 11.30 a.m. music with DJs followed by lunch (reservations by 2 May).
In the afternoon you can enjoy two live concerts: at 15:30 Vasco tribute and at 17:30 AC/DC tribute.

ANGOLO VERTICAL – ANGOLO TERME – SUNDAY 12 MAY
Sunday 12 May in Angolo Terme it’s back to running!
The new edition of Angolo Vertical – “The toughest race” is getting closer and closer, which for 2024 will also be the Only Test that will assign the Provincial FIDAL Specialty Title.
3.6 km and 1000 metres of positive altitude difference, along the “Belvidì” trail: a race where legs and breath will be seriously tested, with many prizes for the winners.
New this year will be the Mini Angolo Vertical, a non-competitive race designed especially for the little ones, scheduled for Saturday 11 May at 15:00.

LOZIO ADHESION CEREMONY TO “MOUNTAINEERS’ VILLAGES” – LOZIO – MAY 18/19
Saturday, May 18th, and Sunday, May 19th, you are all invited to the official adhesion ceremony of Lozio to the “Mountaineers’ Villages.”
The aim of the “Mountaineers’ Villages” project is to develop a mountain tourism inspired by the principles of respect and sustainability, which enhances the mountain territory with low environmental impact interventions,and which addresses a group of guests looking for a credible alternative to “all-inclusive” tourism. The “Mountaineers’ Village” thus becomes a qualified and recognised place, where the environment represents a significant value and can become a source of wealth for the entire local community.
On Saturday 18 May at 19:00 there will be a Convention at the House of Wisdom in Sommaprada, followed by dinner (reservations by 14 May).
On Sunday at 9:00 a.m. the official ceremony will be held, followed by a walk to discover the area and lunch open to all those who wish to join in this moment of aggregation.
With the assignment of the title “Mountaineers’ Village,” the first in Lombardy, new opportunities are opening up for Lozio to promote the local natural beauties, with a perspective of sustainable tourism aimed at preserving the integrity of the environment, traditions, and the peculiarities of a still unspoiled place.
