Do you already know what to do in October?

OCTOBER ON ALTOPIANO DEL SOLE

Welcome October! When nature is tinged with the colours of foliage and the forests are aglow with shades of gold, red and orange, the Altopiano del Sole takes on a hypnotic charm, inviting you to slow down and immerse yourself in an atmosphere of pure magic.
Thanks to the still mild temperatures, hikers and bikers can venture along the numerous paths that connect the villages. One of the most popular autumn activities is chestnut harvesting, which can be found in the areas of Pat, Creelone, Lozio and Angolo Terme. But what are the October events on the Altopiano del Sole?

We discuss them in this new article.

BORNO

19-20 OCTOBER – HAERETICA

The flagship event of the Bornese autumn, Haeretica’ is the historical re-enactment that takes the small village ‘into the imagery of fear in the medieval night’.
The event will begin in the afternoon of Saturday 19 October, with performances by jesters, hawks in flight, and entertainment for young and old. At nightfall, instead, the streets of the centre will be populated by frightening creatures, such as the Krampus from Pozza di Fassa, who with demonic masks will contribute to creating an atmosphere reminiscent of the dark nights of the Middle Ages.
New this year will be the double appointment with Haeretica on the morning of Sunday 20 October.
At 10.00 a.m., the meeting will take place at the town hall for those who would like to participate in a guided tour with Prof. Francesco Inversini, for a journey to discover the history and mysteries of Borno.

OSSIMO

4- 5 OCTOBER – OSSIMO BEER FEST

The 1st Ossimo Beer Fest kicks off on Friday 4 October. The undisputed protagonist of the event will be beer, served in collaboration with local producers and accompanied by dishes from the food stand for dinner. On Friday evening don’t miss the show of The Raggy Dolls, a rock/alternative cover band with raw and electronic sounds, while on Saturday DJ Man will be playing a DJ set until late at night on the stage of the Ossimo Superiore sports field.

SUNDAY 20 OCTOBER – WOODLAND FESTIVAL

Sunday 20 October sees the arrival of the Woodland Festival (Festival del Bosco) in Ossimo, a sensory experience in contact with nature, guided by Sonic Artist Claudia Ferretti Isonde.
Participants will walk along the path that from Tere Rose crosses Anvoia and leads to the Pat valley, discovering the sounds of the area, slowly savouring the soundscape amidst the colours and voices of the forest and learning about the world through the sounds that animate it.
This will be followed by a packed lunch at Pat. Reservations are recommended at 348.8576525.

PIANCOGNO

EVENTS, CONFERENCES AND SHOWS

On Monday, 7 October, the Piancogno Municipal Library will host the presentation of the book ‘Le storie d’amore non finiscono mai’ (Love stories never end) by Camuno author Enrico Nodari. A collection of stories that take the form of a literary journey through different places, times and social realities, which will be the focus of the meeting with the writer.
For theatre enthusiasts, we recommend the show ‘Le Tre Moschettiere’ (The Three Musketeers) by the Sipario Onirico company, which will be staged on Sunday, 13 October at the Piamborno Oratory theatre. ‘Corsi d’acqua tra Piancogno, Darfo Boario Terme e dintorni’ is the title of the conference organised by the associations “Raccontando Pian di Borno” and “Ars Camunnorum” on Saturday 12 October at 20:30. During the evening, speakers will explore the history, landscape and urbanistic value of the River Oglio. Water will also be the leitmotif of the guided excursion along the Ogliolo and Oglio, scheduled for Sunday 20 October along the route from Piamborno to Montecchio.

LOZIO

On Sunday, 6 October, the Church of SS. Nazzaro and Celso will host the choral review ‘Voci dalla Concarena’.

The musical event, promoted by the ‘I Musicanti’ Association of Lozio, will be enlivened by the voices of the organisers, the ‘Made in a Smile’ group from Breno and the ‘Coro Valgrigna’ from Esine, with refreshments offered for all to follow. GIAN – Gruppo italiano Amico della Natura (Italian Group Friend of Nature) celebrates 30 years of activity in conjunction with the new edition of ‘BICICASTAGNO’. A regular autumn event on the Altopiano del Sole, suitable for both cyclists and walkers, along the route from Villa di Lozio to Ossimo Superiore and back. The walk will start from the Casa Arcobaleno (Rainbow House) and on the occasion of the anniversary will end with a lunch in company at the former kindergarten. In the afternoon, there will be a social gathering with roasted chestnuts and concert by ‘I Luf’.
