ALPINE PASTURE PRODUCTS
The mountain has always been appreciated for its Alpine pasture products.
Between the end of May and mid-June, the animals move to the mountain pastures and remain there throughout the summer. This allows them to take advantage of all the benefits offered by the pastures, where ideal conditions are created for milk production and for the care and protection of the land. From the milk obtained during milking in the Alpine pastures of the Altopiano del Sole, cheeses of various consistencies and maturities are then made, produced with full respect for animals and nature.
The alpine pasture products typical of the Borno area are:
- Pure natural cream butter
- Alpine pasture cheese different for each alpine pasture
- Silter cheese
- Long-ripened local cheese
- Soft cheese
- Stracchino
- Goat’s milk cheese
- Goat Stracchino
- Ricotta
In the Malghe it is also possible to watch the dairy process and buy products directly on site.
