Fragments of the Moon

“Frammenti di Luna”: an installation consisting of a sculpture in black veined Lozio stone and music.

“Frammenti di luna” is part of LA MEMORIA DELLE PIETRE, a path of research and artistic valorisation of the mining sites and stones of Valle Camonica, whose objective is the restitution of a priceless heritage of culture and craftsmanship to the territory of Valle Camonica.

The three-year, artistic and research project, promoted by the Distretto Culturale della Comunità Montana di Valle Camonica and a dozen municipalities in the valley, is supported by the Lombardy Region.

“In remote times,
up there in the universe,
they crumbled the moon
From its dust
lying on the earth
mountains took shape
and thus the Concarena was born.
The years passed and man began to quarry the stone and with him, unaware, he also took fragments of the moon with him.
so brilliant, it remains a mystery”
