PICNIC AREA

The picnic area is located behind the Big Bench of Lozio, in a place called, in local dialect, ‘Doss de l’ora’ (hill of the hour).
The meaning is given by a small hillock reached by the breeze from Lake Iseo below. In the past, shepherds from the various hamlets of the municipality of Lozio and from the neighbouring villages of Cerveno, Malegno and Losine used to meet here. It is said they used to spend long evenings admiring the valley below as far as the shores of Lake Iseo, waiting for news of the valley, whispered by the wind.
Today this small promontory is a destination for tourists who admire the landscape and unspoilt nature of the Lozio Valley and, sitting on the bench in silence, wait for those gusts of wind full of voices that only ‘the hour’ can bring.
The picnic area hosts some splendid wooden sculptures depicting the famous story of Pinocchio.
